May 12 GIANTS 9 vs TIGERS 5
The TIGERS were just out played by a tough GIANTS team. The TIGERS were lead by great pitching from ANTHONY, JOE, and CAMERON and never let the GIANTS score more than 2 in any inning. ANTHONY had 3 excellent innings of pitching with 6 strikeouts including a shut out 2nd inning with 3 straight strike outs to earn the game ball. The TIGERS had some great defense plays from ANTHONY, JAKE, TOMMY, JOE, TREVOR and MIKE. All the TIGERS helped in the field including MIKEY, DYLAN, and ZAC to keep the GIANTS to low scoring in each inning. On offense the TIGERS were ultimately beaten by excellent GIANT pitching. The TIGERS had a great 5 run 2nd inning when the GIANTS walked the bases loaded and then the TIGERS followed up with two back to back singles from JOE and JAKE. JAKE stole home to end the inning with the 5 run cap. Runs were scored by DANIELLE, MIKE, CAMERON, JOE, and JAKE. Other hits came from TOMMY and MIKE but tough GIANTS pitching and fielding shut out the TIGERS in the other innings. | May 10 TIGERS 14 vs RANGERS 4
All the TIGERS showed up for this game fueled by great hitting, base running, and pitching. The killer combo of TREVOR and MIKE was the highlight of the game. TREVOR starting the pitching effort for 3 innings, holding the RANGERS to only 4 runs, and striking out 4! Then coming in for the final inning, MIKE closed the deal with 2 strike outs scoring the save and the game ball. Other great defensive plays came from TREVOR making all 3 fielding outs from the mound in the 1st, JAKE with an unassisted out at 1st base, ANTHONY firing a ball to catcher JOE for the tag out, and JOE with a fly out grab in left field. On offense, the TIGERS were unstoppable with over 25 stolen bases, in only 4 innings - WOW!...and no one was caught stealing. BOTH TREVOR and JOE stole home to score key runs. Runs were scored by TREVOR, JAKE, JOE (2), ZAC (2), MIKE (3), DANIELLE (2), TOMMY, CHARLIE, and DYLAN. The bats were also hot with on-base hits from MIKEY, DYLAN, CHARLIE, TOMMY (2), DANIELLE, MIKE, JOE (2), JAKE, and CAMERON. The TIGERS on base percentage was 72% (26 for 36)!!! The TIGERS are heating up as they go into mid season. So far this season the TIGERS have outscored opponents 57 to 42. | May 6 DEVIL RAYS 8 vs TIGERS 7

The TIGERS never gave up in this Spring classic! It did not feel like Spring as the wind was howling at 25-30 mph gusting to 40 mph!!! The hats were flying and so was the ball with 20 total runs scored in this game. On Defense the TIGERS had great pitching from Anthony (4 strike outs), Cameron (holding the BLUE JAYS to 2 runs in 2 innings with only 1 walk), and Joe with 2 clutch strike outs in the top of the last inning. In the field everyone on the TIGERS played great backing up teammates and makings some excellent plays. Joe had a great fly out grab in deep center field, Dylan pulled down a high fly ball at 3rd base, Danielle made a great ground ball out in the infield, and the combination of Conner (P) and Jake (1st) made a couple excellent put outs at first base. Also on defense, Trevor had several great innings behind the plate at catcher. On offense the TIGERS scored 8 of their 10 runs in the second half of the game, never giving up, and weathering the blistering wind. Runs were scored by Mikey (2), Jake, Mike, Joe, Anthony, Cameron, Zac, Danielle, and Charlie. Jake (3) and Danielle (2) lead hitting with Mikey, Joe, Cameron, Zac, and Charlie driving the ball out into the field as well. It came down to the last half of the last inning with the TIGERS down 3 runs. Zac opened the inning with a line drive double, followed by a single from Danielle, followed by another single by Charlie. Mikey came up and hit another line drive double into right field followed by another single by Jake. GREAT CLUTCH HITTING!!! So there was only one out with the TIGERS ready to score the winning run. Mike came up to bat and ripped a line drive up the middle but the Pitcher just barely snagged it and was able to double up the TIGERS on the bases. Great effort all around by the TIGERS and some unbelievable plays by the BLUE JAYS kept this one tied in the record books. The TIGERS gave a great performance but were edged out by the tough MARINERS in the bottom of the 6th inning. Trevor started the pitching for the TIGERS holding the MARINERS to only 2 runs in 3 innings with 5 strikeouts. Zac and Charlie followed with great pitching as well keeping the game close to the last play. On defense the TIGERS had great fielding plays by Mikey firing a runner out from 2nd and a great fly out grab at 3rd, Trevor snagging a line drive on the pitching mound, Charlie with a great grabs at short and pitcher to 1st, and Anthony with a line out grab at 1st. Other fine defensive play from Dylan, Jake, Danielle, and Mike kept the TIGERS in the game to the very end. The TIGERS scored 6 runs off the hits from Jake, Charlie (2), Joe, and Cameron. Joe had a clutch single in the top of the 6th inning scoring a RBI needed to take the game into the bottom of the 6th. Mike and Tommy had 2 stolen bases each to help out the TIGERS. Runs were scored by Danielle, Cameron, Anthony, Tommy, and Charlie (2). The game was tied going into the bottom of the 6th inning and the TIGERS were close to taking the game into extra innings, but the Mariners snuck in a run with 3 stolen bases. | April 17 TIGERS 10 vs BREWERS 2
The TIGERS WIN the first game a great overall team effort and excellent pitching. Cameron pitched 2 1/3 innings with 4 strikeouts, followed by Anthony who shut down the BREWERS in the 3rd inning leaving 2 runners on base with two critical strikeouts. Anthony went on to strike out another batter in the fourth inning as the TIGERS took out the BREWERS 1-2-3 with a great Flyball catch in left field by Joe. The TIGERS shut down the BREWERS in the 5th and last inning with excellent pitching by Joe striking out 2 batters. The Tigers also had great fielding efforts by Zac, Danielle, Tommy, and Dylan helping keep the Brewer s to 2 runs. On offense the TIGERS had a 52% on base percentage (17/33)! The Tigers were led by base hits from Cameron, Joe, Anthony, Trevor (Great Bunt!), and Jake. Runs were scored by Cameron (2), Joe, Anthony, Charlie, Mikey (2), Jake (2), and Mike. Congratulations to Mikey for being awarded the game ball for his excellent performance in his first Little League Baseball game. |
